Master in Analytics & Artificial Intelligence

Get work experience while you study

The Master in Analytics & Artificial Intelligence program from ESMT Berlin prepares you for a future role where your technical skills inform your strategic leadership decisions.

One key way that we do this is by providing hands-on experience, with multiple opportunities built into the curriculum for you to see how Analytics and Artificial Intelligence can be applied in technologically-driven companies

Explore your opportunities:

  • Computer Science courses

Boost your coding and analytic skills and benefiting from exposure to new tools

ESMT offers basic computer science courses to students of the MAAI. You will benefit from hands-on experience working within the dynamically evolving software and applications landscape and also have an opportunity to receive instruction in coding and analytics.

  • Internships

Work with companies as part of your course and get real-world experience

A core part of your learning experience is a mandatory internship between April and September of your first year of studies. The internship has a minimum duration of 12 weeks, but most choose to do a longer internship of up to six months.

You can complete an internship anywhere in the world. ESMT's Career Services team will help you find the right opportunity and prepare professional and convincing applications for your chosen positions

    Internship Examples:

    • Amazon: working in Project Management

    • EY: working in Consulting

    • Mercedes Benz Mobility: working in Financial Reporting

    • PUMA: working as a Global Collaboration Intern

    • Tesla: working in Business Operations

    • Zalando: working in Culture, New Work, Diversity & Inclusion

  • Analytics Student Consulting Project

Work with companies to solve data-focused problems as part of your studies

During term 4 you have the opportunity to participate in the Analytics Student Consulting Project. Join a team of fellow students to define a data-focused challenge in collaboration with a technologically advanced company and, with the support of a professional coach, develop your own solutions that will be presented to the partner company upon project completion.

  • Portfolio Management Program

Develop your investing and trading skills with practical experience

The Portfolio Management Program (PMP) is an extracurricular project outside the formal master curriculum, where selected participants can actively manage a real-money portfolio of 1 million Euros per group within a total portfolio value of 3 million Euros.

The program enables you to combine theory and practice to develop real trading strategies on the open market.

You will actively conduct financial and economic research and analysis to understand the fundamentals of investing and asset management. This will help you develop the necessary skills to take this real-money portfolio and further develop a strategy to allocate and manage the funds.
