Sanya Rajgarhia Sanya currently works at Allianz Consulting as a Junior Consultant

What were your personal highlights from your time at ESMT Berlin?
ESMT fulfilled everything promised during the application process and the orientation week. The great faculty, the well-developed courses and most importantly the diversity in the class helped me grow – both academically and professionally. I will forever cherish the relationships I developed with my fellow classmates, and the learnings from each of them during our collaborative projects like the Social Impact Project and other academic projects.

What were your biggest learnings from the MIM program?
ESMT made me realize where my strengths and weaknesses lie. This is, in my opinion, a very important realization to make for a young professional. With the different academic coursework that ESMT indulged us in and the exposure I gained during the internship module, I could identify what I excelled at doing and where I needed to do put in more work that others had to.

How have your studies at ESMT influenced your career thus far?
I think ESMT has greatly impacted my career so far. I started my first career milestone in Germany because of the internship module in our course. If the curriculum was not designed in this way, I probably would not have actively thought about getting an internship within the first six months of my arrival in Germany. I discovered new opportunities, made connections to different companies, and continued working throughout my studies. This shapes you as a professional, teaches you how to prioritize and manage different things at one time, and materializes your career goals.

Any thoughts, tips or tricks you would like to share with future students?
I would say something that was told to us at the beginning of the program. These two years are going to be like a roller coaster. There will be many ups, many downs, many unexpected turns but at the same time, a lot of fun. The first few months could be overwhelming, you may have a lot of submissions and deadlines to keep up with, but at the end, it all pays off. It will be worth it, and you will definitely look back at it with a smile and a sense of achievement. So just keep going and make the most of it!
