The ESMT MIM has ranked #12 in the world and #1 in Germany in the Financial Times Global Maser's in Management ranking 2021. The program is also ranked 7th globally for overall satisfaction and 10th for international mobility.  

The Master in Management (MIM) program combines internships and a social impact project with applied coursework and research on the latest business and international management theories.

The program is taught in English and is divided into two tracks with a focus on international management. One track (Quantitative Business) is designed for quantitative decision analysts and one track for creative and strategic thinkers (Innovative Management). Depending on the track, students choose one out of four specializations in the second year:

  • Business Analytics
  • Finance & Investments
  • Entrepreneurship & Innovation
  • Global & Digital Strategy

The two-year Master in Management program begins in September of every year. Students graduate with an M.Sc. in Management, worth 120 ECTS credits.

Internships & projects

The MIM allows for students to gain up to 10 months of practical experience, through a mandatory, up to six-months internship and the participation in the Social Impact Project, a chance to put relevant business skills to use in a non-profit organization working on social challenges in a developing country.

Portfolio Management Program

The Portfolio Management Program (PMP) is an optional two-year elective during the MIM program in which selected students actively manage a real-money portfolio - 1 million Euros per group with a total portfolio value of 3 million Euros.
